Overview

Located in Santa Cruz near the SF Bay Area, our repurposed warehouse office is surrounded by trails and open space.
Responsibilities- Architect and implement End‑of‑Line manufacturing testing for the Capital System and subsystems to verify system functionality.
- Architect and implement hardware‑in‑the‑loop testing for system integration, identifying integration issues and ensuring durability and safety of software and/or hardware updates.
- Architect and implement CI/CD testing using known hardware for software updates.
- Integrate and debug new hardware designs or lot variations, and identify/direct functional issues to the engineering team.
- Conduct stress and load testing to assess limits and durability of the system.
- Aggregate and connect data from manufacturing stages, testing, and field use into a centralized access point for analysis.
- Apply testing frameworks developed on the Capital System to Implant and Delivery System product lines.
- Define the organization of data output so that it can be analyzed to provide actionable feedback to engineering teams on design, manufacturing consistency, and clinical performance.
- Implement a complex (Communication, Planning and Execution) framework with a can‑do attitude, achieving results tied to performance.
- Firm grasp of test development and execution (unit, integration, functional, and performance tests)
- Proficiency in Python, C, MATLAB, or ROS for automation, test scripting, and robot control
- Understanding of robotic systems and components such as motors, brakes, gearboxes
- Ability to harness, analyze, and visualize data in Python or similar languages
- Working knowledge of embedded system design to the extent of implementing tests around robotic hardware
- Strong grasp of engineering fundamentals such as elasticity, torque, and efficiency, and ability to synthesize inputs from experts
- Problem‑solving skills to delineate software bugs, mechanical faults, or integration problems and identify the failure stack
- Strong communication, collaboration, teamwork, and project‑management skills
- Can‑do attitude
- 10+ years of professional experience
- Engineering degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics, or Computer Science
