Design Hire is partnering with an exceptional client whose engineering team delivers thoughtful, high-impact building solutions across a diverse range of projects. As a Mechanical Engineer, you will help transform project requirements into coordinated, technically sound designs while working alongside experienced engineers and project teams. Key Responsibilities- Lead HVAC System Design, Plumbing System Design, and Fire Protection System Design for a variety of building projects.
- Develop MEP Design documents and technical deliverables using Autodesk Revit, Revit Modeling, and Building Systems Modeling.
- Perform Engineering Calculations, including HVAC Load Calculations / Analysis, using Load Simulation Software such as Trane TRACE, Carrier HAP, and Energy Pro.
- Support Design Coordination and Design Package Coordination with internal disciplines, architects, consultants, and project stakeholders.
- Conduct Field Observation / Site Inspections, Construction / Site Visits, and QA/QC Reviews to help ensure designs are accurately implemented and meet project requirements.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license in Mechanical Engineering preferred or the ability to obtain licensure.
- Strong knowledge of Technical Design principles and applicable ASHRAE Standards / Practices.
- Experience applying Oregon Building Codes and/or California Building Codes to commercial or institutional projects.
- Ability to review drawings, specifications, and project documents with strong attention to detail.
- Proficiency with Drafting tools and document review software, including Bluebeam.
- Ability to identify design issues, evaluate solutions, and communicate technical information clearly.
- Strong teamwork and organizational skills with the ability to manage priorities across multiple projects.
