Position: Nursing - P/T Registered Nurse, Santa Cruz, CA

Overview

Are you ready to bring your nursing expertise to the forefront of transformative care? We are seeking a dynamic Registered Nurse (RN) for our Santa Cruz location. As a Registered Nurse with us, you will help deliver healthcare services tailored to individuals with autism and developmental disabilities in a day school setting. Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to champion holistic wellness and growth for our students.

Responsibilities
  • Collaborative Crusader:
    Join forces with our team of Board-Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs), teachers, and other staff to ensure personalized treatment plans for students.
  • Assessment Adventures:
    Conduct assessments by reviewing medical histories and developmental needs to guide treatment planning.
  • Medication Mastery:
    Train staff to administer medications and perform minor interventions per a healthcare provider s orders, ensuring safety and well-being.
  • Vigilant Vigilante:
    Provide oversight of students  health at school.
  • Family Champion:
    Support families with knowledge and skills to become champions of care.
  • Alliance Architect:
    Collaborate with external healthcare providers to ensure integrated care.
  • Documentation Expert:
    Maintain meticulous records of progress and interventions to stay on track.
  • Team Trainer:
    Provide healthcare-related trainings to staff and collaborate with the multidisciplinary team on best practices.

Skills and Qualifications
  • Current licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
  • Minimum of 1-3 years of clinical experience in pediatric nursing, with preference for experience working with children with developmental disabilities.
  • Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) strongly preferred.
  • Familiarity with Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) principles and techniques is desirable.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and collaboration skills with the ability to thrive within an interdisciplinary team.
  • Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities, committed to evidence-based practice and continuous quality improvement.
  • Flexibility to adapt to the unique needs of each client and family, with empathy, patience, and cultural sensitivity.
  • Upholds confidentiality and professionalism while fostering a supportive environment for clients and colleagues.
