As a Security Officer Unarmed Patrol Relief in Santa Cruz, CA
, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Retail/Malls and more. This part‑time position allows you to build a schedule that works for you and explore new roles through our Claim a Shift platform. In this role you will conduct routine patrols, remain visible to deter security‑related incidents, and deliver outstanding customer service and communication while supporting a welcoming environment with a team that values agility, reliability, innovation, care for people, and integrity.

Position Type: Part Time

Pay Rate: $19.01 per hour

Job Schedule: Saturday 08:00 PM – 04:30 AM;
Sunday 08:00 PM – 04:30 AM

• Provide customer service to visitors, members, and staff by following site‑specific procedures, assisting with directions and/or questions, and supporting emergency response activities when appropriate.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations calmly, documenting observations and notifying the appropriate contacts as needed.
• Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the sales floor, entrances, parking areas, loading zones, and perimeter to help identify unusual activity and/or security‑related concerns.
• Monitor access points, high‑traffic areas, and exterior activity to help deter unauthorized entry, theft‑related activity, and/or policy violations.
• Support retail location operations by reporting hazards, maintenance issues, and customer service concerns, and by communicating clearly with site contacts and Allied Universal leadership.

• A guard card and/or license is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• Applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
