Accounts Payable Clerk

Description

We are looking for an experienced Accounts Payable Clerk to join our client's team in Santa Fe Springs, California. This is a long-term contract position within the wholesale distribution industry, offering the opportunity to work in a fast-paced, detail-oriented environment. The ideal candidate will bring strong organizational skills and expertise in handling high-volume payables and full-cycle accounts payable processes.

Responsibilities:

- Charges expenses to accounts and cost centers by analyzing invoice/expense reports, and recording entries.

- Perform three-way matching of invoices, purchase orders, and receipts to maintain accuracy and compliance.

- Handle high volumes of payable transactions efficiently while maintaining attention to detail.

- Pays employees by receiving and verifying expense reports and requests for advances, and preparing checks

- Collaborate with vendors and resolve discrepancies or issues related to payments.

- Reconciles processed work by verifying entries and comparing system reports to balances and reclassifying entries, posting to the general ledger when requested

- Assist with the monthly reconciliation of AP.

- Provide support to the finance team on additional tasks as needed.

Requirements

- Minimum of 1 year of experience in accounts payable or a similar role.

- Strong data entry skills with alpha typing speeds ranging from 6,000 to 10,000 keystrokes per hour.

- Intermediate Excel skills, including the ability to create and manage spreadsheets.

- Familiarity with three-way matching processes for invoices and purchase orders.

- Excellent organizational and time-management skills to handle high volumes of transactions.

- Some college education a plus
