Reporting to the Director of Accounting, the Sr. Accountant is responsible for assisting month-end and year-end closing including the development of financial reports, assisting with day-to-day finance and accounting operations and other select finance-related administration; ensuring timely reconciliation and reporting of all financial statements and preparing financial analyses for parent/subsidiaries as requested; serving as the primary contact for AR/AP staffs on invoicing, bill payments, cash receipts and revenue.
The Senior Accountant also implements and trains staff to use EPICOR software, streamlines processes and improves the reliability of financial information.
- Responsible AR and AP month end closing in a timely manner
- Ensuring proper revenue and expense recognition
- Performing timely and accurate month-end journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations (e.g., assets, liabilities, revenue, expenses, accruals, etc.), ensuring that accounting schedules are updated and accurate
- Balancing intercompany accounts which includes reconciling and eliminating transactions between entities to ensure they net to zero.
- Managing accounts receivable, credit and collections and maintaining customer files and following up with customers on past due balances
- Responsible for entering cash receipts, reconciling cash transactions with bank statements
- Preparing commissions, rebates and royalty reports and review for accuracy
- Preparing and filing state sales tax returns, prepare and maintain a quarterly cash collection forecast
- Training other AR personnel and serve as AR and AP backup if needed
- Assisting with year-end activities and tax returns and providing substantiation documents to support audits
- Compiling information and file state and local sales tax returns
- Cross-functional collaboration, partnering with other team members, support business initiatives and report accounting-related matters to supervisor
- Adhering to policies and regulations and ensuring compliance with company policies and accounting standards
- Participating in and supporting special projects, such as Epicor ERP system implementations, AR/AP process improvement, financial analysis to drive efficiency and add value to the organization
- Any other duties as assigned by management
- Education:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting - Three years’ experience in general ledger, AR, billing and AP
- Experience using ERP systems
- Superior data management and data analysis skills
- Strong time management and organizational skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Experience with manufacturing accounting preferred
- Excellent interpersonal skills, with experience collaborating in a multidisciplinary, diverse, and dynamic team.
Pay Range: $100,000 - $110,000 plus a discretionary bonus.
While a Company bonus is not guaranteed, this position’s maximum bonus percentage range can be up to 10% of base salary
