Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and energetic Bookkeeper to join our dynamic finance team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, managing accounts payable and receivable, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. - Maintain accurate general ledger entries through double entry bookkeeping, journal entries, and account reconciliation.
- Manage accounts payable and receivable processes, ensuring timely payments and collections.
- Prepare financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow reports in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
- Conduct bank reconciliations, account analysis, and balance sheet reconciliations to ensure data integrity.
- Assist with regulatory reporting requirements and support internal audits by providing detailed financial documentation.
- Utilize accounting software such as Quick Books, Xero, Sage, People Soft, or similar platforms to record transactions and generate reports.
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis activities to aid strategic decision-making.
- Ensure compliance with SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) controls and LIHTC (Low-Income Housing Tax Credit) regulations where applicable.
- Collaborate with team members on technical accounting issues including accrual accounting, securities law compliance, governmental accounting standards, and non-profit accounting practices.
- Contribute to the development of financial report writing and interpretation skills within the team while mentoring junior staff members.
- Proven experience in bookkeeping or accounting roles within corporate finance or public accounting environments.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP standards and financial concepts such as debits & credits, journal entries, and account reconciliation.
- Hands-on experience with various accounting software including Quick Books, Xero, Sage, People Soft or similar platforms.
- Familiarity with regulatory reporting requirements related to Quick book programs.
- Demonstrated ability in financial statement preparation, cash flow analysis, budget management, and financial report interpretation.
