Job SummaryCosasco is looking for a Supply Chain Manager to develop and implement a supply chain strategy that maximises customer satisfaction through on‑time delivery, lead‑time and quality metrics, reduces inventory, and delivers the lowest total landed cost. You will lead and manage purchasing and planning functions, research product availability, delivery dates and pricing, coordinate the prioritisation of supplier demand, and communicate production delays as needed.
Analyse our current buying and planning processes and create the best methods for day‑to‑day operations. Interact with various internal departments to support timely customer order shipments and with external suppliers for inventory and cost controls.
- Direct Reports:
Two Buyers, One Production Planner - Establish and implement planning and purchasing policies, procedures, and best practices.
- Monitor ongoing compliance with planning and purchasing policies and procedures.
- Monitor and reduce purchase variances to meet profit objectives.
- Oversee the operations and daily activities of the purchasing and planning department.
- Produce regular reports on purchase commitments, costs and delivery performance.
- Manage, develop and motivate the team.
- Direct continuous improvement of processes in line with changing organisational needs and market conditions.
- Develop, monitor and manage KPIs for suppliers in alignment with QDC targets – Supplier Defect Rate, OTD, Cost Savings, Cost of Inventory / Stock Turns.
- Develop, monitor and manage KPIs for the team in alignment with QDC targets – Jobs released on time, Purchases placed on time, Number of unconfirmed purchase orders, Purchase price variance.
- Support development of contract manufacturing partners in the Americas.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- Oversee and coordinate with suppliers and other departments to ensure and verify product specifications, availability, pricing and delivery dates.
- Direct procurement policies to ensure all items are purchased and delivered within budget and time constraints.
- Develop and manage a cost‑out funnel from ideation to execution to achieve lowest total cost of ownership.
- Develop, negotiate and administer purchasing agreements and contracts with suppliers.
- Drive increasing inventory turns, reduce cycles and improve customer OTD by developing, implementing and managing pull‑based replenishment processes including Kanban, VMI and supplier‑consigned inventory.
- Maintain awareness of world markets and emerging material or logistics related issues in the industry.
- Continuously assess supply‑chain risk and implement approaches to reduce risk.
- Manage supplier selection process based on price, quality, support, capacity and reliability.
- Support supplier qualification and approval process.
- Provide effective support to new product introduction teams, proposal development and subcontracting opportunities.
- Develop and maintain strategic relationships with key suppliers.
- Establish and update an approved supplier database.
- Participate in the development of specifications for equipment, products or substitute materials.
- Fully utilise Epicor MRP system to plan purchases and track performance.
- Introduce performance improvement measures for suppliers.
