Sr. Buyer

Description

We are looking for an experienced Senior Buyer to join our client's. In this role, you will oversee purchasing processes to ensure timely and cost-effective acquisition of goods and materials needed to support manufacturing operations. The ideal candidate will excel in supplier management, procurement analysis, and inventory control while maintaining high standards of quality and efficiency.

Responsibilities:

- Oversee the procurement of raw materials and finished goods to support manufacturing demands.

- Process purchase orders accurately and ensure proper routing for authorization and approval.

- Utilize the Global Shop System to input and manage purchasing data effectively.

- Collaborate with suppliers to ensure timely delivery and resolve any discrepancies or issues.

- Maintain an up-to-date approved supplier list and assist in supplier evaluations.

- Perform cost analysis to secure high-quality goods at the lowest possible prices.

- Address and resolve conflicts between departments such as purchasing, quality, engineering, and accounting.

- Support the Purchasing Manager in acquiring designated items and completing assigned tasks.

- Scan and file purchasing documents, including requisitions and purchase orders, for accurate record-keeping.

- Ensure inventory levels align with manufacturing and customer requirements.

Requirements

- Associate degree or a minimum of three years of purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.

- Familiarity with the Global Shop System or similar software is highly desirable.

- Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, and internet applications required.

- Strong mathematical skills and ability to perform financial analyses.

- Knowledge of Lean principles or Green Belt certification is a plus.

- Purchasing certifications or coursework in supply chain management are advantageous.

- Capability to work independently with minimal supervision.
