About the RoleWe are on the lookout for an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead our Structures Division, overseeing intricate heavy civil and structural projects such as bridges, retaining walls, pump stations, foundations, and concrete structures.
This senior role involves the overall direction, management, and execution of multiple large projects. The Senior Project Manager will provide guidance on scheduling, cost control, coordinating with subcontractors, and managing client relationships to ensure the safe, efficient, and profitable completion of each project. Prior experience in estimation is highly valued.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the organization, planning, and implementation of multiple projects in collaboration with Division Managers and Estimators.
- Set project goals, timelines, budgets, and financial controls.
- Oversee all contractual administration and documentation with owners, subcontractors, and suppliers.
- Supervise on-site operations by working closely with superintendents to ensure project milestones are met.
- Act as the main company representative with owners, agencies, and consultants; attend and lead weekly progress meetings.
- Manage all financial aspects of each project, including tracking job costs, handling change orders, billing, and collections.
- Maintain accurate budget forecasts, reports, and projections.
- Analyze and resolve project-related issues related to labor, material deliveries, scheduling, and contractual matters.
- Support and review estimations, schedules, and bid preparations as necessary.
- Coach, mentor, and develop junior project management and field staff.
- Enforce strict compliance with safety regulations, quality standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Identify risks, forecast impacts, and implement effective risk mitigation strategies.
- Ensure timely and thorough project completion, including final documentation and punch lists.
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Minimum of 4-7 years of experience, with a preference for 10+ years, in managing heavy civil and structural construction projects, including bridges, retaining walls, foundations, and concrete structures.
- Demonstrated ability to oversee multiple projects concurrently, from preconstruction to completion.
- Strong comprehension of construction sequencing, CPM scheduling, cost management, and risk assessment.
- Proven track record in change management, forecasting, and WIP analysis.
- Familiarity with public contract regulations and government contract compliance.
- Proficiency in MS Office, Primavera P6, Bluebeam, and other project management software.
- Excellent skills in leadership, communication, and organization.
