Senior Estimator

Ethos Energy is currently seeking a Senior Estimator for our Santa Fe Springs, CA location. The candidate must have at least 15 years' experience working in industrial maintenance or related estimating experience. The role involves preparing and coordinating proposals (firm price or time and material) from conception to completion of industrial equipment, including steam and/or gas turbines, reciprocating compressors and pumps of all sizes.

The candidate must be willing to travel for short times to job walks with potential customers, whether driving long distances or flying.

• Reviews and evaluates Requests for Estimates.
• Prepares estimates and ensures timely completion of estimates and provides job tasks broken down by hours per task.
• Reviews estimates and revisions for completeness and accuracy.
• Navigate through job folders and proposal templates.
• Reviews requests for estimate documents and understands scope of work to estimate.
• Obtains pricing for materials and labor from subcontractors.
• Have the ability to evaluate subcontractor costs and review for completeness.
• Where predetermined standard(s) are not available, makes an estimate based on experience and seeking input.
• Informs immediate supervisor of any observed inaccuracies or omissions in quoted items or computer databases.
• Understands and maintains resource information on products, vendors, subcontractors, government requirements, etc.
• Attends departmental meetings, as required.

  Ability to read and interpret documents such as blueprints, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Write routine reports and correspondence. Speak effectively before groups of customers or employees.

  Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio and percentage and to draw and interpret graphs.

  To perform the job successfully, an individual should be proficient with estimating and spreadsheet software and should have knowledge of word processing software, e-mail and the use of the Internet.

• Must have at least 15 years experience working in industrial maintenance or have related experience estimating hours on the same.

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED) or five years of related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.

• Annual Salary Range for this position is $70,000.00 - $90,000.00 based on experience and skill set
