Job Summary
The Vice President of Finance is a senior leadership role responsible for the financial health and operational efficiency of a multi-location retail organization. This role encompasses financial planning, analysis, compliance, and reporting, with a strategic focus on aligning financial objectives with business goals. As a key executive team member, the VP of Finance ensures transparency, fiscal responsibility, and cross-department collaboration to support sustainable growth.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities Strategic Financial Leadership- Collaborate with executive leadership to design and implement financial strategies aligned with business objectives.
- Provide insights on fiscal policies, investment strategies, and capital allocation to the President and Board of Directors.
- Analyze financial trends and deliver actionable insights to support growth initiatives.
- Oversee the budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis processes.
- Lead the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for internal and external stakeholders.
- Develop and monitor key performance metrics to evaluate financial performance.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP, tax laws, and regulatory standards.
- Manage relationships with external auditors, tax advisors, and financial institutions.
- Ensure accurate and timely preparation of financial statements.
- Oversee cash flow management, working capital, and liquidity planning.
- Establish and maintain banking and financing relationships.
- Evaluate funding options, including debt and equity, to support business goals.
- Provide financial leadership for mergers, acquisitions, and strategic partnerships.
- Conduct due diligence, evaluate targets, and lead integration planning.
- Mentor and lead the finance team, fostering a culture of accountability and excellence.
- Promote cross-department collaboration to align financial strategies with operational goals.
- Identify and implement talent development opportunities within the team.
- Collaborate with other departments, including HR, Operations, and Marketing, to ensure financial strategies are integrated.
- Drive technology adoption to streamline financial operations and enhance reporting capabilities.
- Ensure company wide training in financial literacy for department leaders.
- Act as the primary liaison with investors and stakeholders.
- Develop presentations for board meetings and investor updates, highlighting company performance and future financial plans.
- Establish and maintain strong internal controls to safeguard assets and mitigate risks.
- Provide strategic recommendations to minimize financial risk exposure while enhancing operational resilience.
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field (required). Master’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, or related discipline (preferred). CPA, CFA, or similar professional certification (highly desirable).
Experience:
At least 10 years of progressive experience in accounting and finance leadership roles, with a proven track record in strategic financial planning and execution.
