- The initial compensation for this position ranges from $21.00 - $25.83 per hour; depending on experience, location, and internal equity considerations.

Under direction of the Program Director or Team Supervisor, implements specific integrated substance abuse services, provides individual and group service; implements treatment plans and monitors the needs of clients with substance use disorders.
Responsibilities- Performs substance abuse screens, intakes and clinical assessments.
- Performs person-centered treatment planning for persons with substance use disorders and co-occurring disorders, including initial, on-going, continuity of care, discharge, and planning for relapse prevention.
- Assists in admitting and releasing all clients into or from the treatment setting, including gathering all pertinent information regarding previous admissions, psychological conditions and physical conditions.
- Performs counseling, trauma informed care, and psycho-education with individuals, families, and groups.
- Provides client, family and community education on substance use and co-occurring disorders.
- Works with clients regarding abusive behavior and advises clients regarding their responsibilities under law for various behaviors.
- Provides clients with information and referrals to available programs for more appropriate treatment, recovery support, aftercare and other supportive services as appropriate.
- Assists or refers clients for assistance in applying for programs.
- Demonstrates knowledge of the Strategic Prevention Framework for Substance Use Disorders, and ability to perform activities included in the Center for Substance Abuse Prevention (CSAP) strategies.
- Documents and maintains sufficient records of client activity to ensure consistency with existing policies and procedures and to inform staff of client’s progress.
- Participates in case conferencing by providing pertinent information to a multidisciplinary team, including mental health staff and case managers.
- Works on a multicultural team sensitive to the cultural and linguistic needs of the clients and families served.
- Completes billing expectations per Agency requirements and provides services consistent with program needs.
- Conducts random and routine drug and alcohol tests.
- Attends and participates in staff meetings to provide input towards program development and staff training.
- Interacts with other internal programs, clinical/support staff and external sources such as school or community personnel as applicable.
- Reports to work on time and maintains reliable and regular attendance.
- Models Pacific Clinics’ approach, mission and core values in all communication and correspondence.
- Performs professional and ethical responsibilities.
- Communicates effectively in a competent and diverse consumer population and promotes favorable interaction with managers, co-workers and others.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

- High School Diploma or GED required
- California State Registered Substance Use Disorder Counselor, or equivalent.
While performing the duties of this job the employee is frequently required to stand or sit. The employee is required to use hands to produce records and/or documentation in manual or electronic format. The employee must possess ability to ensure significant communication with the Clinics' community members. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 5 pounds and occasionally move or lift up to 10 pounds.
