As a subsidiary of Fire-Dex, we specialize in advanced cleaning, inspection, repair, alteration, and equipment customizations for first responders. When a firefighter’s gear needs cleaning or repair, we make sure it’s done right — helping protect those who protect us.
We are seeking an Operations Team Lead (Non-Exempt) to support day to day operations at a small Gear Wash service location with approximately four employees. This is a working lead role focused on coordinating daily workflow, coaching employees, and ensuring safety, quality, and service standards are consistently met.

Key Responsibilities Daily Operations & Workflow- Coordinate daily production activities to ensure work orders move efficiently through the facility
- Lead daily startup activities, job assignments, and workflow prioritization
- Monitor productivity and quality against established standards
- Assist handson with production activities as needed
- Operate a company vehicle as needed to ensure continuity of operations, including transporting PPE, equipment, or materials when coverage gaps occur
- Ensure adherence to NFPA 1850/1851 standards and OSHA requirements
- Reinforce proper PPE usage and safe work practices at all times
- Support documentation and compliance related to third party verification programs
- Participate in updating and following Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
- Provide daytoday guidance, training, and coaching to team members
- Support onboarding of new employees and reinforce proper work techniques
- Address minor performance or attendance issues and escalate when appropriate
- Foster a respectful, accountable, and safety focused work environment
This role provides work direction but does not have authority to approve timecards, perform payroll functions, or independently issue formal disciplinary action.
Customer & Internal Communication- Communicate professionally with customers regarding gear status and service timelines
- Provide regular updates to corporate and operations leadership
- Support customer visits and relation shipbuilding activities as needed
- Accurately use company systems to track work orders and production status
- Maintain process documentation and assist with operational reporting
Utilize Microsoft Office tools and internal systems for communication and reporting
- Assist with routine equipment care and minor maintenance
- Help maintain an organized, clean, and compliant facility
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education preferred
- Prior experience in manufacturing, production, warehouse, or service operations
- Bilingual in Spanish strongly preferred
- Experience leading or training small teams strongly preferred
- Familiarity with safety driven or regulated environments (NFPA, OSHA, or similar)
- Basic to intermediate computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, SharePoint)
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability and willingness to operate a company vehicle as needed to support operations, including covering driving responsibilities when the assigned driver is unavailable
- Must maintain a valid driver’s license and meet company driving eligibility requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and perform repetitive motions throughout the workday
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation
- Monday through Friday, typical daytime hours 7 AM – 3:30 PM
- Overtime may be required based on business needs
- Meal and rest breaks provided in accordance with California law
- Hourly pay range: $50,000 – $60,000 annually (nonexempt; overtime eligible)
