Provide preventative maintenance for all company tools, equipment, trucks, carts, forklifts, and facilities.
- Read equipment literature and provide troubleshooting.
- Search replacement parts, order through the office and replace them when received.
- Participate in mechanical assembly process of production when necessary.
- Keep work areas organized, safe, and clean.
- Trouble shoot tools and equipment mechanically and electrically and execute appropriate action.
- Preventative checkups and maintenance of company trucks.
- Preventative checkups and maintenance of forklifts.
- Preventative checkups and maintenance of equipment.
- Preventative checkups and maintenance of tools, welding machines, compressors, etc.
- Maintain maintenance area inventory.
- Perform facilities repairs and maintenance as directed (electric plugs, fuses, plumbing, doors, lights, housekeeping, roof, A/C units, concrete repairs, etc.).
- Constantly check for repair needs of the facility, and perform necessary repairs.
- Consistently monitor and survey all tools, equipment, vehicles and facilities to ensure that everything is in good aesthetic and operating condition.
Education Requirements High school diploma or GED required. Technical school, vocational training, or industrial maintenance certification preferred.
Experience Requirements Experience maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, or pneumatic equipment. Ability to read technical manuals, diagrams, blueprints, or equipment documentation. Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills. Ability to safely use hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment. Commitment to workplace safety, quality workmanship, and preventative maintenance practices. At least 2 years of experience in facilities maintenance or mechanical equipment maintenance.
Ability to Successfully read and understand schematics for various types of equipment. Owns all hand tools. Willing to work overtime as needed. Must possess quality communication and interpersonal skills. Must possess sound problem-solving skills. Ability to multi-task. Ability to prioritize multiple tasks efficiently. Ability to work efficiently with minimal supervision. Exercises team effort to achieve success. Demonstrates respect for peers, subordinates, supervisors and customers.
Ability to understand and follow instructions. Must fully understand and adhere to maintenance, safety, and quality processes
Preferred Qualifications Previous experience in manufacturing, industrial maintenance, facilities maintenance, or a related technical environment is preferred. Experience performing preventative maintenance programs and responding to equipment breakdowns is beneficial. Knowledge of PLCs, electrical controls, hydraulics, pneumatics, welding, or fabrication is considered an asset. Individuals who demonstrate strong troubleshooting abilities, teamwork, and a commitment to continuous improvement are well positioned for success as a Maintenance Technician.
Physical Capabilities Ability to stand, walk, bend, climb, kneel, and work in a variety of industrial environments throughout the shift. Ability to lift equipment, tools, and replacement parts weighing up to 50 pounds. Ability to safely work around moving machinery while following established safety procedures. Manual dexterity to operate tools, perform repairs, and inspect equipment.
