Transportation Coordinator

Purpose:

This position provides support to the Socal Transportation Department ensuring daily drayage moves are completed in coordination with port terminals, damage distribution teams, direct dray customers, and dispatch.

• Store Door work order management: access daily Steamship Lines website for new orders, update website per SOP, audit Webec/Draywatch daily for pending records, forward electronic orders to Finance, update Store Door status per container in Webec/Equipment Control.
• Allocation requests from Damco Customer Service Team: confirm receipt of work order, check port website for availability, schedule pick‑up appointments, coordinate reefer/genset needs, update allocation in Webec according to customer pier pass requirements.
• Coordinate daily drayage moves with Hudd Dispatch or 3rd‑party truckers.
• Process 3rd‑party trucker invoices for payment and update Equipment Interchange Receipt dates in Webec.
• Customer service for Direct Dray and Damco Central Dray customers: receive delivery orders from broker, send daily dispatch reports by required cutoff times, update manual tracking log for reports, coordinate container delivery with dispatch and customer warehouse, complete weekly billing per SOP, monitor yard reports to capture per diem last free day.
• Review daily holds placed by DDSI facilities, follow up with SSL and release holds for allocation.
• Weekly billing: pier pass, clean truck, bobtails, chassis splits, LTL and airfreight, import direct drays, shuttle drayage, storage.
• Assist Driver Safety department with weekly driver payroll processing.
• Assist Dispatch when time permits.
• Perform other job‑related duties as assigned by management.

• One year relevant experience with port terminal operations (preferred but not required).
• Capable of multi‑tasking and maintaining appropriate organizational skills in a busy environment.
• Ability to work independently.
• Self‑starter attitude.
• High school diploma or equivalent; permanent US work authorization required.
