Senior Accountant

The New Mexico Association of Counties (NMAC) is accepting applications for a senior accountant for nonprofit association and county insurance pools.

The successful candidate will have excellent accounting and computer skills. A bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field and/or 5+ years of experience in non-profit accounting is preferred. Duties will include working alongside the Finance Director and Comptroller to assist with financial reporting and reconciliation, billing, analytics, compliance and controls, and cross-functional work.

New Mexico Association of Counties (NMC) is a nonprofit, nonpartisan organization representing and serving New Mexico’s 33 counties. Since 1968, NMC has been a statewide voice for county government, helping elected officials and employees work together to solve problems and advance local interests. The association provides legislative representation, research, lawsuit coordination, and training to improve county administration and financing. NMC also offers insurance pools for workers’ compensation and property, casualty, and liability coverage, as well as educational programs and conferences that support county officials in fulfilling their duties.
