Role Description

The Business Development Manager is a full-time, on-site role located in Santa Fe, NM, responsible for expanding partnerships and opportunities that support SFCC’s educational and workforce mission. This role develops and maintains relationships with local employers, community organizations, and agencies to identify training needs and collaborative initiatives. The Business Development Manager conducts market analysis, prepares proposals, and negotiates agreements that align college programs with regional economic and workforce priorities.

Daily responsibilities include meeting with stakeholders, coordinating cross-departmental efforts, tracking and reporting business development metrics, and representing SFCC at community and industry events. The role also contributes to strategic planning by identifying growth opportunities, supporting grant initiatives, and ensuring that new partnerships enhance student outcomes and community impact.

Qualifications
  • Business development and partnership skills, including relationship building, stakeholder engagement, and negotiation.
  • Experience in market research, data analysis, and opportunity assessment to inform program and partnership decisions.
  • Strong communication abilities, including professional writing, presentation skills, and public speaking.
  • Project and account management skills, including planning, prioritization, and coordination across multiple teams.
  • Background in education, workforce development, community engagement, or a related field is highly beneficial.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Public Administration, Education, or a related discipline; advanced degree preferred.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a diverse, inclusive environment and build trust with internal and external partners.
  • Knowledge of the local and regional economic landscape and experience working with employers or community organizations is a plus.
  • Proficiency with productivity and CRM tools to track contacts, initiatives, and performance metrics.
