PT Teaching Artist Dance Barns-Apprentice

Teaching and Choreography
· Training period includes paid apprenticeship learning under the guidance of a master teacher, and participating in training and enrichment workshops to learn the pedagogy and build teaching skills. Schedule can range from 3-12 hours/week
· Prepares assignments and lesson plans for classes as directed by lead teaching artist
· Works collaboratively with teaching and music team to create choreography for outreach programs

Production Support
· Works backstage in support of culminating performances for programs

General Artistic Duties:
· Attends all enrichment workshops and staff meetings as needed
· Follows NDI New Mexico program curriculum set by program director
· Provides program director with required materials and information as needed
· Subbing classes when available
· Other duties as needed and mutually agreed upon Working Conditions, Environment and

Physical Requirements:

· Requires weekend and evening hours
· Requires extensive physical movement, dance, high energy, and stamina
· In applicable programs performs functions in a variety of environments including: NDI New Mexico offices, schools, residency sites, and other locations
· In applicable programs may require reimbursable in-state travel to NDI New Mexico locations, participating schools, residency sites, and community events

Job Specific Requirements:
· Professional dance performance experience
· College level education preferred
· Minimum 1-2 years of experience in job-related duties
· Flexibility in work schedule
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills
