Temporary Position – Contracted from August 31st to November 13th. This entry‑level role provides first‑line customer service for Maricopa County citizens, offering knowledgeable and courteous support across multiple county departments.
STAR Contact Center OverviewProvides efficient information to callers concerning the Recorder, Elections, Assessor, and Treasurer offices and the County Switchboard. Representatives answer nearly all questions in a single call and are available in both English and Spanish.
Election Office HighlightsThe Elections Office delivers accurate voter information across Arizona’s largest voting jurisdiction, seeking dedicated professionals to support this mission.
Schedule & LocationHours:
8:00AM – 5:00PM with a one‑hour lunch break.
Location:
Convenient downtown office accessible by public transportation, within proximity to dining and entertainment.
• 6+ months of customer service and/or clerical experience.
• High School diploma or GED (post‑secondary education may substitute for required experience on a year‑for‑year basis).
• Previous call center experience is valued.
• Bilingual in Spanish and English.
- Receive and manage incoming calls requiring skilled communication and accurate information.
- Act as a communication facilitator between the public and contact center management.
- Relay and process information to supervisors or leads as needed.
- Answer phone calls, take and relay messages, and provide factual information to the public and internal staff.
- Maintain logs and other information data entry records.
- Complete and review routine forms and memos, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
Office setting with minimal exposure to adverse environmental conditions. Requires ability to sit or stand for extended periods and view a computer screen for extended periods. Occasionally lifting up to 10 lbs. Telework is not available.
