Non-Certified Dental Assistant (New) – El Centro Family Health, New Mexico Job Description
As a Federally Qualified Health Center, 501(c)(3), our mission is to provide affordable, accessible, quality health care to the people of Northern New Mexico. El Centro Family Health is seeking a full‑time Non‑Certified Dental Assistant dedicated to serving the needs of our community.
Compensation: $17.00 to $22.88 hourly, commensurate with education and experience.
An ideal candidate should possess the following qualities:
- Strong interpersonal communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community.
- Attention to detail.
- Willing to travel to outlying clinics as needed.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Knowledge and fluent skills of Microsoft Office Excel and Word applications, internet explorer usage, and Outlook.
Responsibilities
Under general supervision, the non‑certified Dental Assistant provides clinical, administrative, and staff support to full‑range dental services operations. The assistant assists in the performance of dental procedures, policies and standards, and assists in the coordination of day‑to‑day patient administration, records management, and office support activities.
The non‑certified Dental Assistant provides chair side assistance to the Dentist and/or Dental Hygienist in the performance of dental procedures, including operative, preventive, periodontal, endodontic, prosthetic, and/or oral surgical procedures.
Minimum requirements
Education: High school or equivalent.
Experience: No experience necessary; this is an entry‑level position. Experienced Assistants are also encouraged to apply.
Certification: Must apply and complete radiology requirements within six months from date of hire.
Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)/Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days of hire.
