About Cooking with Kids (CWK)
Cooking with Kids (CWK) has spent nearly 30 years helping children discover the joy of cooking and
healthy eating through hands-on food education in schools across northern New Mexico. Each year, we
engage thousands of children, families, educators, and school nutrition teams in vibrant cooking and
tasting lessons that strengthen healthy habits and build community.
This project

This new family-friendly digital cookbook is part of our effort to bring the joy of Cooking with Kids
home-supporting children and families as they cook, taste, and explore healthy foods together. It also
offers a meaningful way to thank and highlight the sponsors and community partners who make our
work possible.

CWK seeks a consultant to design this bilingual digital cookbook (maximum 20 pages per language

version), using recipes and materials provided by CWK. The final product should be clear, smartphone
- friendly, engaging, kid- and family-friendly, and easy for CWK to update. The consultant should expect

iterative review and refinement in close collaboration with the CWK Executive Director and
Communications Director.

Deliverables & Timeline
1. Initial Mock-Up (Due February 1, 2026)

• Cover design
• Sponsor/acknowledgment page
• One sample recipe page

2. Sponsor-Ready Mock-Up (Due February 9, 2026 - Monday)
A polished mock-up suitable for soliciting ads and sponsor ships, with designated spaces for sponsor
logos, acknowledgments, and ad placements.

3. Full Cookbook Template (Due February 20, 2026 - Friday)

• A complete, easy-to-edit template built in Canva (preferred)
• Layout, styles, and visual elements designed for clarity, accessibility, and family/kid appeal

4. Full Draft - English Version (Due March 20, 2026 - Friday)

• Complete cookbook using CWK-provided recipes and content
• Consultant may incorporate stock images to enhance design

5. Full Draft - Spanish Version (Due March 27, 2026 - Friday)

• Fully translated and formatted version mirroring the English edition

6. Final Content Package (Due April 10, 2026 - Friday)

• All editable source files and master templates
• All images, graphics, and assets (with appropriate licenses for CWK's unrestricted future use)
• Full access to all template elements for ongoing updates by CWK staff

Required

Skills & Qualifications

• Strong experience in digital design, including proficiency in Canva
• Bilingual (English-Spanish) strongly preferred
• Experience designing materials for K-6 children and family audiences
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
• Availability to begin the project by January 26, 2026
• Ability to manage deadlines and iterative feedback efficiently

• A brief note of interest
• A short résumé
• At least two samples of similar design work (e.g., cookbooks, family/kid-friendly materials,
  bilingual publications)

We will review submissions on a rolling basis and anticipate selecting a consultant by January 16, 2026.
