The Program Coordinator is a full-time, on-site role based in Santa Fe, NM, supporting the planning, delivery, and evaluation of the New Mexico Simon Scholars Program. This position coordinates scholar-facing activities, including workshops, cohort meetings, academic enrichment events, and college and career readiness programming. The Program Coordinator maintains regular communication with scholars and families, provides basic advising and referrals to resources, and supports students in meeting program expectations and milestones.
Day-to-day responsibilities include managing program calendars, tracking participation and outcomes, maintaining accurate records in databases or spreadsheets, and preparing reports or summaries for leadership and funders. The role also involves collaborating with community partners and schools, assisting with outreach and selection of new scholars, supporting logistics for special events, and contributing to continuous improvement of program materials and processes.
- Fluent Spanish speaker strongly desired.
- Strong Communication skills, including clear written and verbal communication with students, families, staff, and community partners.
- Customer Service skills to provide responsive, empathetic, and solution-oriented support to scholars and their families.
- Experience working with youth from diverse and under-resourced backgrounds, ideally in education, college access, or youth development settings.
- Proficiency with common office software (e.g., Google Workspace or Microsoft Office) and comfort learning databases or CRM tools.
- Ability to work on-site in Santa Fe, NM, with occasional evening or weekend hours for events or workshops.
- Bachelor's degree in education, social sciences, counseling, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
