This position exists to advance New Mexico's Community Schools strategy by supporting the planning, implementation, monitoring, and continuous improvement of Community Schools statewide. The role helps ensure that Community Schools are implemented with fidelity to state statute, rule, research, and the six key practices while maintaining compliance with grant and program requirements. It serves as a critical bridge between NMPED, school districts, community partners, families, and local communities to strengthen whole-child supports and improve student outcomes.
The position assists bureau leadership in developing program goals, measuring effectiveness, analyzing data, and reporting results to demonstrate impact. Through technical assistance, coaching, professional development, and stakeholder collaboration, the position helps build local capacity and sustainable systems that support student success, family engagement, and community partnerships across New Mexico.
The key responsibilities of this position are to administer and oversee the Community Schools grant program, ensuring effective implementation, compliance, and alignment with New Mexico's Community Schools statute, rule, and six key practices. The position serves as a primary liaison between NMPED, the Coalition for Community Schools, contracted partners, school districts, charter schools, and community stakeholders to coordinate statewide implementation efforts.
The role is responsible for monitoring grants, contracts, budgets, and program performance; providing fiscal and operational support to grantees; and ensuring accountability for public funds. The position also collaborates with technical assistance, coaching, certification, and professional development partners to align services and support continuous improvement across the statewide network. Additionally, the position leads data collection, analysis, evaluation, and reporting efforts to measure program effectiveness, inform decision‑making, demonstrate outcomes, and guide the ongoing growth and sustainability of Community Schools in New Mexico.

The primary customers of this position are local education agencies (LEAs), charter schools, and Community School sites participating in New Mexico's Community Schools initiative. The position supports these grantees through grant management, monitoring, fiscal guidance, data and evaluation support, and coordination of statewide implementation efforts. Secondary customers include community partners, vendors, technical assistance providers, the New Mexico Coalition for Community Schools, and other stakeholders who collaborate to strengthen Community Schools across the state.

The ideal candidate has strong experience in Community Schools implementation and a deep understanding of the whole-child framework, the six key practices, and community-based education strategies. They are skilled in data collection, analysis, evaluation, and data-driven decision-making, with the ability to translate data into actionable insights that improve program outcomes. The candidate has experience managing grant-funded programs, monitoring performance, and ensuring compliance with state and federal requirements.
They are highly collaborative and able to build and maintain effective relationships with school districts, charter schools, community organizations, vendors, and statewide partners.
