* * Position Summary
** The Director of the Center for Professional Learning is responsible for strategically leading, designing, and overseeing comprehensive, ongoing professional development initiatives aimed at enhancing the skills and effectiveness of Santa Fe Community College’s (SFCC) 65 full-time faculty, 272 adjunct faculty, and 324 staff members.
The Director will foster an inclusive culture of continuous learning and professional growth, aligning development activities with institutional goals, leadership and departmental training, academic excellence, teaching innovation, and student success.
This position will be eligible for hybrid work as determined by the Chief Human Resources Officer
** Duties & Responsibilities
*** Develop and implement a comprehensive strategic vision for ongoing professional development aligned with SFCC’s mission and strategic priorities.
* Oversee annual institutional assessments to identify and address faculty and staff professional learning needs.
* Collaborate closely with Human Resources, Academic Affairs, and the Office of Online Teaching and Learning to ensure consistency and effectiveness in ongoing training programs and initiatives.
* Collaborate with the Office of Online Teaching and Learning for the creation and administration of professional development curricula, ensuring continuous integration of best practices in pedagogy, online teaching, technology integration, learning management system (LMS) usage, and alignment with Quality Matters standards.
* Manage professional development budgets, including grants and other external funding sources, ensuring accountability and alignment with college priorities.
* Identify, engage, and coordinate external experts, consultants, and facilitators for sustained professional learning programs, including the identification of external professional opportunities that faculty may participate in.
* Oversee the design and implementation of assessment tools, such as surveys and evaluations, to measure the ongoing effectiveness and impact of professional development activities.
* Promote and support sustained professional growth opportunities, including workshops, conferences, online modules, certifications, and recurring learning sessions ensuring continuous access for all employee groups.
* Develop and maintain an online Professional Development Resource Hub, providing faculty and staff with accessible tools, resources, and best practice guidelines.
* Facilitate collaborative learning opportunities and communities of practice to enhance professional engagement across campus.
