Applies technical knowledge of electronics principles in determining equipment malfunctions, and applies skill in restoring equipment operations. Supports survivability testing on systems and components to include nuclear effects, electromagnetic environmental effects, and directed energy effects. Supports test system setup, system checkouts, collect, reduce and analyze data and help prepare test reports. Helps support component level characterizations, and set up data acquisition systems to collect data for survivability assessment programs.
Supports radiated emissions testing and field mapping. Helps build and repair fiber optic and coaxial cables. Supports operational and maintenance services for test facility systems and equipment such as Fast Burst Reactor, Gamma Radiation Facility, Linear Accelerator, Relativistic Electron Beam Accelerator, Electromagnetic Pulse Facilities, Electromagnetic Radiation Facilities, and Electrostatic Discharge and Lightning Facilities. Receives technical guidance from supervisor or higher-level technician.
Work is reviewed for compliance with accepted practices. Other duties may be assigned within his/her capabilities. Work will include cross-utilization into other jobs as required. May require overtime and/or weekend work.
