Staff Accountant

Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team in Santa Fe, New Mexico. This is a Contract to permanent position, offering an excellent opportunity to contribute to financial operations while advancing your career. The role focuses on managing corporate taxes, sales tax compliance, and maintaining accurate financial records.

Responsibilities:

- Prepare and review corporate tax returns to ensure accuracy and compliance.

- Manage sales tax filings and resolve related issues promptly.

- Record and reconcile journal entries to maintain up-to-date financial data.

- Monitor and maintain the general ledger, ensuring all transactions are properly documented.

- Assist with the preparation of financial reports and statements.

- Collaborate with other departments to provide insights and support for tax-related matters.

- Conduct periodic audits to verify the accuracy of financial records.

- Ensure compliance with tax regulations and accounting standards.

- Analyze financial data to identify discrepancies and recommend solutions.

- Support month-end and year-end closing processes. Requirements - Proven experience in corporate tax preparation and compliance.

- Solid knowledge of sales tax regulations and filing processes.

- Proficiency in handling journal entries and general ledger maintenance.

- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy.

- Familiarity with accounting principles and financial reporting standards.

- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines efficiently.

- Excellent communication skills for collaboration across departments.

- Proficiency in accounting software and tools.
