The Team You Will be JoiningThis agency works to protect the people of New Mexico and the nation through a comprehensive and coordinated program of mitigating hazards, preparing for emergencies, preventing attacks, and recovering from disasters regardless of cause. This department prepares for a wide variety of emergencies, including wildfires, flooding, health crises, and domestic attacks. When necessary, the state assists localities whose capabilities are overwhelmed, and DSHEM serves as the conduit for federal assistance.
Our work in emergency management is coordinated around the five mission areas of the National Preparedness Goal: prevention, protection, mitigation, response, and recovery.
- Support weekly budget development by creating new budgets and maintaining related financial documentation.
- Create and process IBARS transactions while performing accurate data entry to support budget operations.
- Maintain funding stream master lists and generate recurring budget and financial reports.
- Perform budget reconciliations to verify financial accuracy and resolve discrepancies.
- Assist with capital asset management by entering asset data, applying asset tags, and maintaining photographic records.
- Support preparation of the FY28 budget request by compiling financial data, updating documentation, and assisting with budget analysis.
- Primary responsibilities include data entry, maintaining accurate documentation, and supporting budget related processes.
- Experience working with state government and/or budget processes is preferred.
- Budget experience is a plus but can be taught to the right candidate.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in documentation are essential.
- Experience using SHARE Financials is preferred.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills are required, including creating and interpreting Pivot Tables.

100% Onsite (Albuquerque, NM 87109)
