The New Mexico Department of Health works in many ways to promote, preserve and protect the health of New Mexico residents. The ITSD supports many programs within DOH all of which provide some of the most requested and important services we provide to our customers.

The purpose of this position within the ADSB team in the Information Technology Services Division will be to serve as the IT Application Support role for the New Mexico Department of Health. To support various IT applications within the ADSB applications portfolio.

• Application Development, Maintenance, Enhancement and Support of the various COTS and Web-based Applications systems within the ADSB Bureau.
• Provide support and assist various Clinical applications such as Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems and In-house developed Web-based custom systems for the New Mexico Department of Health.
• Development of Reports and data feeds to and from the applications.
• Follow Industry standard Development and Application Support processes and methodologies.
• Liaise and communicate (verbal and written) - with Customers, Vendors and ADSB Management.
• Other tasks include - Status Reporting, Testing, Training, Documentation, etc.

This position supports various applications throughout the Department of Health for various users such as Clinical, Administrative and other System Users at the NMDOH Facilities.

• Experience working with ASP, .NET, C#, C++, HTML/CSS, Python, and /or other related & important development languages/ platforms
• Experience working with Visual Studio, Microsoft SQL, query development.
• Experience developing reports - such as Power BI, SQL Reporting services (SSRS) and Crystal Reports.
• Experience gathering and documenting technical requirements.
• Experience in quality assurance (QA) & testing processes.
• Good customer relation skills and verbal and written communication skills, with emphasis on support.
• Flexibility to work on multiple projects simultaneously.
• Experience with troubleshooting application Issues.
• Experience with the Software Development Life cycle and Development methodologies.
• Experience in Technical Writing, Test Scripts, and Systems documentation
• Experience in ensuring compliance with data security and privacy requirements.

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems (MIS), Information Technology, Engineering, or similar technical degree and two (2) years of experience in systems administration. Any combination of education from an accredited college or university in a related field and/or direct experience in this occupation totaling six (6) years may substitute for the required education and experience.

Must possess and maintain a valid Driver's License.

• Work is performed in an Office setting
• Verbal and written communication with the Users of the systems at the Facilities
• Exposure to Visual/ Video Display Terminal (VDT)
• Extensive personal computer and Telephone usage with extended periods of sitting
• Must be able to lift 25 pounds.

This position is covered by a collective bargaining agreement and all terms/conditions of that agreement apply and must be adhered to.
