Pay Range$19.97/hr - $29.95/hr (Pay Band C4)

This position provides general maintenance including carpentry, sheet rock, painting, repairing floors, cleaning, and similar duties within adult correctional facilities.
Key Responsibilities- Perform a variety of skilled and semi‑skilled maintenance work indoors and outdoors.
- Maintain equipment and tools.
- Prepare work orders.
- Supervise inmate work crews within an adult correctional facility.
- New Mexico Corrections Department staff.
- Public and private partners.
- Community members.
- Experience as an electrician.
- Experience in other areas of maintenance.
- Operating vehicular and stationary mechanical equipment.
High School Diploma or equivalency.
Employment RequirementsSafety sensitive. Employment subject to pre‑employment and random drug testing. Must pass pre‑employment academy screening and complete the New Mexico Corrections Academy within one year of hire. Must possess and maintain a valid New Mexico Driver’s License. Applicants must be U.S. citizens, at least 18 years old, have a high school education, be of good moral character, not convicted of a felony, and pass a physical and aptitude exam.
Background investigation required.
Work in an adult prison environment with daily contact and supervision of inmates. May be required to work odd hours, overtime, holidays, and weekends.
