Industrial Controls System Admin

Purpose of the Position

Design plant’s electrical projects, maintain, develop, and troubleshoot programmable logic controllers (PLCs) in a dynamic environment subject to frequent changes in demand and project priorities.

• Manage electrical systems and troubleshoot control panels related to power distribution, motor control, and overload protection.
• Conduct PLC programming and networking, including panel braiding and lateral logic design.
• Set line and conveyor speed and ensure compliance with NEC and other industry standards.
• Interpret blueprints, drawings, and schematics.
• Ensure control systems meet safety and quality standards (IEEE, ISO, ISA, ANSI, IEC, NEC).
• Participate in capital project management—review plans, provide feedback, estimate costs, acquire materials, and coordinate with production schedules.
• Recommend performance measures, analyze process measurements, and provide technical expertise to resolve equipment issues.
• Conduct training for controls and electrical systems for maintenance and operations personnel.
• Collaborate with team members, fostering cohesion and supporting team policies.
• Support company operating systems, including quality, security, LEAN, and company policies.
• Perform other duties as necessary.

• Minimum 3 years of PLC and TLC networking experience.
• Proven knowledge of networking and standards: IEEE, ISO, ISA, ANSI, IEC, NEC.

• Preference for experience in poultry or pet food processing organizations.

• Minimum:
  Vocational or technical school in electrical systems or related field.
• Preferred:
  Bachelor’s Degree in a related field.

• Work in a manufacturing environment, climbing stairs, varying temperatures.
• May travel by car or plane for training.
• Use PPE as required.
