Purpose of the Position
Design plant’s electrical projects, maintain, develop, and troubleshoot programmable logic controllers (PLCs) in a dynamic environment subject to frequent changes in demand and project priorities.
Key ResponsibilitiesThis is a Salary Exempt position.
- Manage electrical systems and troubleshoot control panels related to power distribution, motor control, and overload protection.
- Conduct PLC programming and networking, including panel braiding and lateral logic design.
- Set line and conveyor speed and ensure compliance with NEC and other industry standards.
- Interpret blueprints, drawings, and schematics.
- Ensure control systems meet safety and quality standards (IEEE, ISO, ISA, ANSI, IEC, NEC).
- Participate in capital project management—review plans, provide feedback, estimate costs, acquire materials, and coordinate with production schedules.
- Recommend performance measures, analyze process measurements, and provide technical expertise to resolve equipment issues.
- Conduct training for controls and electrical systems for maintenance and operations personnel.
- Collaborate with team members, fostering cohesion and supporting team policies.
- Support company operating systems, including quality, security, LEAN, and company policies.
- Perform other duties as necessary.
- Minimum 3 years of PLC and TLC networking experience.
- Proven knowledge of networking and standards: IEEE, ISO, ISA, ANSI, IEC, NEC.
- Preference for experience in poultry or pet food processing organizations.
- Minimum:
Vocational or technical school in electrical systems or related field. - Preferred:
Bachelor’s Degree in a related field.
- Work in a manufacturing environment, climbing stairs, varying temperatures.
- May travel by car or plane for training.
- Use PPE as required.
