Assistant Distiller (Brewery & Cellar Experience Welcomed)Location: Santa Fe, NM
Compensation: $20.00 - $24.00 per hour
Position Type: Full-Time, Hourly
We are a premier Santa Fe distillery looking to add a second Assistant Distiller to our growing production team. If you have spent time in commercial beverage production - managing liquid transfers, cleaning tanks, and monitoring fermentations - your skills are highly transferable to the art of distillation. We offer a clean, safety-first environment, a collaborative team, and a stable schedule.
WhatYou'll Do
- Production Operations: Execute mashing, fermentation monitoring, and distillation runs under the direction of the Lead Distiller.
- Cellar & CIP Management: Perform strict Clean-in-Place (CIP) procedures, tank sanitization, and pump operations.
- Malt & Raw Materials: Handle grain milling, recipe staging, and inventory tracking (experience with malt production is a major plus).
- Barrel & Inventory Work: Assist with barrel filling, dumping, proofing, and keeping meticulous batch logs.
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience in a commercial production environment (distilling, brewing, or malt production).
- Technical Competence: Confident operating pumps, hoses, valves, and monitoring temperature/gravity data.
- Safety Mindset: Proven track record of safety around hot liquids, chemicals, pressurized systems, and heavy lifting (up to 55 lbs).
- Attention to Detail: Meticulous record-keeping skills for regulatory compliance and quality control.
- Highly Competitive Pay: Starting wage is fixed at $24.00/hour.
- Expand Your Craft: Take your fermentation knowledge and apply it to vapor management, spirit cuts (heads, hearts, tails), and barrel aging.
- Professional Growth: You will work side-by-side with our existing production team in a well-supported, expanding operation.
- $20-$24 per hour
- one week paid vacation in first year
