Travel RN - Med​/Surg - Oncology

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Oncology RN for a travel contract in a chemotherapy outpatient setting, requiring an active chemo certification and NM or compact RN license.

Job Details

• Outpatient oncology setting within a cancer center's chemotherapy department,

• Day shift schedule: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM,

• 5 days per week, 8-hour shifts,

• No weekend requirement,

• No on-call requirement,

• 13-week contract,

Job Requirements

• Active RN license in New Mexico or a compact state,

• Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA),

• Active chemotherapy (chemo) certification required,

• Minimum 1 year of oncology nursing experience,

• US Social Security Number required for consideration,

• Two professional references required for consideration,

• Copies of all active certifications required for consideration,

Additional Information

• Provides routine and complex nursing care using the full nursing process: assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation,

• Administers medications and chemotherapy treatments per protocol and monitors for side effects and treatment effectiveness,

• Addresses complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families,

• Educates patients, family members, and caregivers on care plans and identifies appropriate resources,

• Documents patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided,

• BSN is preferred but not required,

• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for travel pay rates
