Registered Nurse – Critical Care Travel (Santa Fe, NM)
Duration: 13 weeks
Shift: Days 7:00‑7:00 pm
Start: ASAP
Hourly: $16‑$17, Base: $576‑$612 per week, Weekly stipends
- Current New Mexico RN license or current Compact state license
- Current BLS Certification from AHA required
- Current ACLS Certification from AHA required
- Current TNCC Certification required
The Registered Nurse is a clinical practitioner who coordinates and implements patient care specific to the age of the patient population served on the assigned units. They ensure quality care is provided efficiently and safely, consistent with unit standards. They demonstrate performance aligned with the mission, philosophy, and goals of the unit and organization, showing professionalism and respect toward staff, physicians, patients, and families.
Responsibilities- Obtain and record initial assessments and establish priorities based on patient age, symptoms, and psychosocial needs.
- Reassess patients systematically to identify progress and trends requiring intervention.
- Develop and implement a measurable, individualized plan of care within the timeframe set by Nursing Standards of Care.
- Make comprehensive nursing decisions based on fact interpretation and patient outcome evaluations; modify plans accordingly.
- Participate in patient and significant other health education and discharge planning.
- Implement and document timely interventions appropriate to patient needs.
- Evaluate care plans.
- Perform various point‑of‑care testing procedures.
- Use effective communication strategies to achieve intended outcomes.
- Delegate unit work assignments appropriately to ensure completion of required patient‑care support activities.
- Coordinate team assignments and adjust based on patient and unit needs; follow up on delegated tasks for quality and completeness.
- Use the appropriate chain of command for issue resolution.
- Participate in orientation of new staff or students on the unit.
- Function as a resource to visitors, physicians, and staff; greet them promptly and courteously.
- Promote a positive work environment by demonstrating a professional, supportive attitude toward unit staff.
- Remain receptive and responsive to new ideas.
- Participate in the unit’s growth and development to improve organizational performance.
- Collaborate to achieve unit and organizational goals.
- Exhibit behaviors that create high patient/customer satisfaction and respect for patient/customer rights and confidentiality.
- Demonstrate effective communication and human relations skills that promote harmony and teamwork.
- Present behaviors that maintain the hospital’s credibility, integrity, and positive image.
- Support the mission, goals, and operations of the hospital and contribute to continuous service improvement.
- Assist with special projects as assigned.
- Accurately interpret and communicate Human Resources policies and procedures.
- Show flexibility and adapt readily to changes in the work environment or schedule.
- Maintain a positive attitude, even during periods of stress.
- Assume responsibility for professional growth and development.
- Comply with all CSV policies.
- Maintain positive attendance and communicate in advance any absences from work.
- Adhere to all patient and environmental safety policies and procedures.
- Graduate of an accredited program for Registered Nursing.
- Current New Mexico RN license or current Compact state license
- Current BLS Certification required
- Current ACLS Certification required
- Current TNCC Certification required
- Current knowledge and skills appropriate to age/type of patient population served.
- Knowledgeable and sensitive to patients’ rights in the delivery of care.
- Communicate clearly and concisely in a manner appropriate to developmental age of patient.
