Position Purpose
(STAFF DEVELOPMENT COORDINATOR) The primary purpose of this position is to plan, organize, develop, and direct all in‑services education programs throughout the facility in accordance with current applicable federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations and, as directed by the Director of Nursing, assure that the highest degree of quality resident care is maintained at all times.
Essential Functions- Develop, implement, and maintain an effective training program for all new hires and existing staff.
- Administer and manage Hepatitis B vaccinations and PPD annual checks for employee health.
- Apply expert knowledge of basic nursing skills (patient assessment, infection control, IV therapy, medication administration, etc.) and pass that knowledge on to others.
- Work closely with the HR manager to provide new‑hire orientation.
- Evaluate educational needs to ensure ongoing continuing education and adherence to applicable required in‑service education for all staff.
- Identify, assess, and implement in‑service programs as needed regarding the satisfactory performance of clinical skills and knowledge.
- Ensure all required in‑service training for Certified Nursing Assistants (C.N.A.) is complete and that in‑services training is sufficient to ensure the continuing competency of nurse aides (no less than 12 hours per year).
- Serve as Infection Control Nurse, reporting infection control practices to the Infection Control Officer and Administrator.
- Provide additional duties as assigned.
Qualified candidates must be a licensed RN/LPN, have a minimum of 2‑4 years of experience as a nurse, and clinical training experience.
