Registered Nurse - Night Shift

This is a 13-week contract position.

Night Shift: 7 PM - 7 AM

The Registered Nurse is a clinical practitioner responsible for coordinating and implementing patient care specific to the age of the patient population served on the assigned units. This role ensures quality care is provided efficiently and safely, consistent with the unit's standards of care. The Registered Nurse demonstrates quality and effectiveness in work habits and clinical practice while treating staff, physicians, patients, and families with consideration and respect.

• Obtain and record initial assessments, establishing priorities according to patient age, symptoms, and psychosocial needs.
• Re-assess patient systems systematically to identify progress and trends requiring intervention.
• Develop and implement a measurable, individualized plan of care for the patient within the timeframe established by Nursing Standards of Care.
• Make comprehensive nursing decisions based on interpretation of facts and evaluations of patient outcomes; modify the plan of care based on evaluations.
• Participate in patient and significant other health education and discharge planning.
• Implement and document timely interventions appropriate to patient needs.
• Evaluate and adjust the plan of care as necessary.
• Perform various Point of Care testing procedures.
• Utilize effective communication strategies to ensure quality patient care.
• Delegate unit work assignments appropriately to ensure completion of patient care support activities.
• Coordinate team assignments and adjust based on patient and unit needs.
• Participate in the orientation of new staff/students on the unit.
• Promote a positive work environment and collaborate with others to achieve unit and organizational goals.

• Current New Mexico RN license or current Compact state license.
• BLS Certification from AHA required.
• ACLS Certification from AHA required.
• PALS Certification from AHA required.
• TNCC or ATCN required.
• CPI or Equivalent preferred.
