American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg RN for a 13-week Acute Orthopedics travel assignment requiring an active NM or compact RN license and BLS certification.

• Acute Orthopedics unit within a hospital setting
• Day shift schedule from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
• 13-week assignment length
• Nurse to patient ratio of 1:5-6
• Uses EPIC EMR system
• Required to work 2 to 4 weekend shifts per month on a rotating basis
• Required to take 2 to 4 on-call shifts per month on a rotating basis
• Floating required to all Med/Surg departments under the same nursing leadership

• Active RN license in New Mexico or compact license required
• BLS certification via AHA required
• 1 year of experience in Med/Surg nursing preferred
• BSN preferred

• Provide nursing care utilizing the full nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation
• Administer medications and treatments per protocol while monitoring for side effects and effectiveness
• Document patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided
• Assess learning needs and provide education to patients, families, and caregivers
• Address complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families
• Make appropriate care assignments and delegate to other care providers as needed
• Grey scrubs required as part of dress code
• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to qualify for travel pay rate
• Candidates previously employed at any CHRISTUS Health facility in a non-travel role must have a 6-month separation period before starting a travel assignment
