American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg RN for a 13-week day shift assignment requiring an active RN license (NM or compact) and BLS certification.

• Acute Medical/Surgical unit within a hospital setting
• Day shift schedule from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
• 13-week assignment length
• Full time schedule
• Patient to nurse ratio of 1:5-6
• Uses EPIC EMR system
• Weekend rotation required, 2 to 4 shifts per month
• On-call rotation required, 2 to 4 shifts per month
• Floating required to all Med/Surg departments within the same unit leadership
• Grey scrubs required as part of dress code

• Active RN license in New Mexico or compact license required
• BLS certification via AHA required
• 1 year of experience in Med/Surg nursing preferred
• BSN preferred

• Provide nursing care using the nursing process including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation
• Administer medications and treatments while monitoring for side effects and effectiveness
• Document patient history, symptoms, medication, and care provided
• Assess learning needs and provide education to patients and families
• Delegate and assign tasks to other care providers as needed to manage clinical situations
• Must reside within a 50-mile radius of the facility
• Previous CHRISTUS Health employees must have a 6-month separation period before being eligible for a travel assignment at any CHRISTUS facility
