Registered Nurse - Med/Surg (Nights)
This position will require night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM.
The Registered Nurse will practice independently within a Med/Surg setting, providing both routine and complex care while demonstrating an awareness of all relevant aspects of the situation. The nurse will work to meet long-range goals and plans, manage clinical contingencies, and make appropriate assignments and delegations to other care providers.
Utilize the nursing process to provide care including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation for assigned patients.
Address complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families.
Administer medications and treatments according to established protocols; monitor for side effects and effectiveness.
Document patient history, symptoms, medications, and care given in a timely manner.
Assess learning needs and provide education to patients, family members, and/or caregivers; identify issues and resources as needed.
Current RN license in New Mexico or current Compact state license.
BLS Certification via AHA required.
Preferred:
Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing and 1 year of experience in related nursing specialty.
