Hospice Director of Nursing

We are seeking a dynamic hospice director of nursing, (RN required) to lead our operations, drive growth, ensure compliance, and cultivate a high-performing team with our office located in Santa Fe, NM.

Position Summary The clinical director is responsible for the overall leadership, operations, and strategic direction of the agency. This role ensures regulatory compliance, financial performance, census growth, and exceptional patient care outcomes. This is a hands-on leadership role ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide overall clinical leadership and daily operations management for the hospice agency
  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and accreditation standards (CHAP, Medicare, NM regulations)
  • Drive census growth through strategic referral development and community relationships
  • Oversee financial performance, budgeting, and operational efficiency
  • Lead, mentor, and develop interdisciplinary team members
  • Collaborate with clinical leadership to ensure high-quality patient care and outcomes
  • Monitor KPIs, quality metrics, and implement performance improvement initiatives
  • Maintain strong relationships with referral sources, hospitals, SNFs, and community partners
  • Ensure readiness for surveys and audits

Qualifications

  • Licensed or eligible to serve as Clinical Director in New Mexico
  • RN License
  • Minimum 2-3 years of hospice leadership experience (hospice DON, Executive Director, or similar)
  • Strong knowledge of hospice regulations, Medicare Conditions of Participation, and compliance standards
  • Proven track record of census growth and operational leadership
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and organizational skills
