The Santa Fe Institute in Santa Fe, NM, invites applications for a two-year, full-time postdoctoral fellowship in physics (or related CS) to study the thermodynamic cost of distributed computation across digital circuits, neural networks, and brains.
The successful candidate will work with PI David Wolpert to scale mismatch-cost theory to large state spaces using coarse-graining, uncertainty quantification, and tensor networks, assessing how network structure affects cost, speed, and reliability.
