The General Manager (GM) is an experienced operational leader responsible for the performance, culture, and compliance of a single or multi‑unit restaurant operation at the Albuquerque Sunport. This role blends hands‑on operational leadership with people development, financial accountability, and guest experience excellence. The General Manager sets the tone for the restaurant‑leading by example, developing future leaders, and ensuring operational standards are consistently met.
Key Responsibilities Leadership & Team Development- Lead, coach, and develop management and hourly teams to achieve operational and performance goals
- Serve as a role model for company values, accountability, professionalism, and ethical conduct
- Recruit, onboard, train, schedule, evaluate, and discipline team members in compliance with company policies and employment regulations
- Build a collaborative, high‑performance culture focused on trust, accountability, and continuous improvement
- Oversee daily restaurant operations to ensure speed, accuracy, quality, and guest satisfaction
- Maintain strict adherence to food safety, sanitation, alcohol service, and health regulations
- Ensure all restaurant positions can be performed as needed to support operations
- Maintain a safe, secure, and well‑organized work environment
- Achieve sales, labor, and profitability targets
- Forecast labor and operational needs; analyze variances and implement corrective actions
- Control food and operating costs through portion control, waste reduction, and inventory management
- Review payroll, audits, and operational reports for accuracy and compliance
- Maintain required certifications (Serv Safe, New Mexico Alcohol Server Permit, FDA food code compliance)
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations
- Partner with HR and leadership to address compliance issues proactively
- Support marketing and promotional initiatives to drive traffic and brand awareness
- Foster strong relationships with airport partners, vendors, and local stakeholders
- 3‑5+ years of progressive leadership experience in restaurant or hospitality operations
- Proven ability to lead teams, manage performance, and drive results in a fast‑paced environment
- Strong financial acumen with experience managing labor, sales, and cost controls
- Excellent communication, coaching, and problem‑solving skills
- Ability to work flexible schedules, including early mornings, nights, weekends, and holidays
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel as needed
- Multi‑unit leadership experience
- Culinary or food service operations background
- Experience with payroll systems (Paycom preferred)
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office and restaurant management systems
- Successful completion of pre‑employment screening
Work Environment Requirements
- Fast‑paced restaurant environment with exposure to heat, noise, and standard kitchen equipment
- Requires prolonged standing, walking, bending, lifting (up to 50 lbs.), and repetitive motions
- Ability to safely work around food products and cleaning chemicals
- Competitive salary: $65,000 - $75,000 per year
