Store Manager – Ross Stores, Inc.

Join Ross, a leading off‑price retail chain with over 2,200 stores nationwide. As a Store Manager, you will lead all aspects of a store’s operations, ensuring high standards of customer service, sales performance, and employee development.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the entire store operation to meet company standards and best practices.
  • Staff, train, and develop leadership teams and Associates to achieve sales and profit goals.
  • Manage stockroom, front end, and sales floor operations, ensuring merchandise is received and presented on time.
  • Analyze store reports to evaluate expenses and performance, and implement action plans.
  • Plan staffing schedules and ensure compliance with payroll and scheduling policies.
  • Recruit, hire, train, and develop Assistant Managers, Area Supervisors, and non‑exempt Associates.
  • Address personnel and performance issues, including coaching, discipline, and terminations when necessary.
  • Control payroll, hours, and other expenditures to stay within budget.
  • Maintain a safe and secure environment, ensuring adherence to safety policies and emergency procedures.
  • Deliver excellent customer service and promote product knowledge through training.
  • Model professional appearance and represent the Ross brand at all times.
  • Ensure merchandise processing, markdowns, and loss prevention practices meet company standards.
  • Lead the annual inventory process and monitor stock‑out policies.
  • Demonstrate business acumen, collaboration, and effective communication to drive results.
Qualifications & Skills
  • Five or more years of store management experience in a retail environment.
  • Strong customer service focus and ability to lead and motivate teams.
  • Experience in coaching, training, and developing Associates.
  • Organization and prioritization skills to manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Fluency in English.
  • Strong independent judgement and discretion.
  • Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand, walk, and move around the store up to 100% of working time.
  • Ability to bend, squat, kneel, climb, and carry items as needed.
  • Capacity to lift up to 25 lbs occasionally.
  • Use of retail equipment such as PDTs, registers, and PCs.
