Summary: To be responsible for installing and repairing complex electrical control, wiring, and lighting systems working from a technical blueprint.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Install, maintain, and repair electrical control, wiring, and lighting systems.
- Work on electric motors.
- Read technical diagrams and blueprints.
- Perform general electrical maintenance.
- Inspect transformers and circuit breakers and other electrical components.
- Troubleshoot electrical issues using appropriate testing devices.
- Repair and replace equipment, electrical wiring, or fixtures.
- Follow National Electrical Code state and local building regulations.
- Circuit breaker corrective maintenance.
- Good knowledge of heating and air conditioning systems.
- Good knowledge of various testing equipment.
- Completion of electrician apprenticeship.
- Experience working as an electrician.
- High school diploma required.
- Valid driver's license.
- Journeyman license state of New Mexico required.
- Knowledge of electrical system, power generation, blueprints and maintenance and repair.
- Experience in renewable energy field.
Environmental Conditions:
Office, shop and warehouse environment, travel from site to site, airborne particles and vibration, and frequently works in outside weather conditions.
Physical Conditions:
Essential and marginal functions may require maintaining physical condition necessary for moderate to heavy carrying, lifting, and pushing; reaching, climbing in high, precarious places, crawling, sitting, standing and walking for extended periods of time, operation of motor vehicles; and subject to random drug testing.
Five years of experience in electrocal field.
Safety- Perform preventive maintenance on tools and equipment.
- Operate tools and equipment according to established safety procedures.
- Ensure that equipment is in safe operating condition.
- Follow established safety procedures and techniques to perform job duties including lifting, climbing, etc.
- Correct unsafe conditions in work area and report any conditions that are not correctable to supervisor immediately.
- Other duties could include working in other areas of the maintenance department to provide support during absences or shortage of staff in other trades or to perform duties associated with light construction projects.
- Requires flexibility and understanding that all maintenance staff may be required to perform duties outside their normal area of expertise to meet the mission and goals of the Facility Services Department.
