these positions will provide coverage 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Work schedules may differ than the standard 8 am – 5 pm monday through friday.

schedule for this position is as follows:
weekend coverage (4 – 10 – hour shifts daytime friday–monday): 8:00 am – 7:00 pm

this emergency response investigations specialist position will serve as a specialized worker dedicated to handling after‑hours emergencies, on‑call response, and crisis situations. This role will mitigate or eliminate the need for primary caseworkers to handle overnight/emergency work, enabling them to focus on their assigned caseloads.

• respond to reports of child abuse or neglect that require immediate action outside of regular business hours; conduct thorough assessments of child safety using structured decision‑making tools and crisis intervention techniques. (60%)
• intervene in family crises that might otherwise result in removal, utilizing crisis de‑escalation techniques to stabilize situations when possible. (20%)
• complete thorough documentation of all emergency interventions, ensuring that information is available to primary caseworkers for follow up, and facilitate effective transfer of information to caseworkers who will assume case management responsibilities. (20%)

• experience working directly with children, youth, and their families.
• partner with community service providers related to children and youth.
• experience working with youth in a school setting.
• determining eligibility for services that might be needed for children, youth and families.
• conducting and completing assessments of safety, risks, strengths, and family needs.
• developing safety plans for children, youth and families.
• participating in multidisciplinary meetings.
• identifying, providing, and/or arranging timely assessments, evaluations, and interviews.
• conducting medical case management activities for eligible clients.

bachelor's degree in social work, education, counseling, psychology, sociology, criminal justice, or family studies from an accredited college/university and two (2) years of any combination of experience including working with communities on health or social service related matters, social work/case management experience, behavioral health, and/or health care. Any combination of education from an accredited college or university in a related field and/or direct experience in this occupation totaling six (6) years may substitute for the required education and experience.

must possess and maintain a valid driver's license. Pre‑employment background investigation is required and is conditional pending results.

work is performed in an office setting: late hours, weekends, on‑call and callback work may be required. Will be exposed to regular periods of video display terminal and keyboard usage and stressful situations. Travel may be required. Possible exposure to irate clientele. Incumbent will work under stress and frequent time constraints. Incumbent will be required to furnish a personal vehicle for carrying out assignments which may include transporting clients including children.

Must have own mode of transportation.
