Target Pay Range/Rate: $36.541-$45.676 per hour or $76,005.28-$95,006.08 annually

The First Judicial District Court is recruiting for one full-time Court Clinician 2 position to work for the First Judicial District Court in Santa Fe, New Mexico. GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES:
Acting under general direction, and by court order independently manage cases, conduct assessments of highly conflicted individuals and families involved in child custody disputes and provide recommendations/suggestions to the court. The Court Clinician 2 is responsible for managing more complex assigned cases, gathering information, and reviewing and analyzing pertinent documents.

• Prepares priority and/or advisory consultation reports and recommendations to assist the court in custody determinations.
• Appears in court as an expert witness, pursuant to NMRA Section 11-705 to provide testimony on the information gathered in family court cases, or domestic violence court cases.
• Develops and prepares custody plans, temporary and stipulated agreements for court approval.
• Conducts mediation and settlement facilitation on cases referred by the family court, children’s court, or domestic violence court that involve disputes regarding child custody matters, abuse neglect cases, and open adoption cases.
• Conducts evaluations and consultations, which may include advisory consultations and priority consultations.
• Clinically assesses the developmental and psychological needs and emotional functioning of children, parents, and families, through information gathering, observation and/or interviewing.
• Administers, scores, and interprets psychological testing if credentialed or under the supervision of a clinical licensed psychologist.
• Administers, scores, and interprets parenting and other psychological inventories as appropriate to the needs of the case.
• Conducts crisis interventions and assesses emergencies to provide services on an on-call basis as requested by the court.
• Makes appropriate referrals to community providers based upon assessment of the family situation.
• Collaborates and/or communicates with community providers, including but not limited to, mental health, education, child protective services, and medical and law enforcement for assigned cases.
• Collaborates with the Judicial Education Center to provide training for court clinicians.
• Reviews psychological tests and assessment instruments used in custody and competency evaluations and assists with determining implementation into the clinic process.
• Conducts incident debriefing for jurors in criminal and civil cases.
• Conducts the General Information Sessions on Children and Separation or General Information Session on Children and Kinship Guardianship.
• Composes memorandums of understanding and prepares for cross-examination by parties and the court.
• Other duties as assigned.

psychological testing procedures; rules of civil procedure as related to family cases;
New Mexico State Statute and laws, New Mexico Licensing Board rules and regulations for Psychology, Counseling and/or Social Work, and American Psychological Association (APA), guidelines and standards.
