Bus Driver

Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and responsible individual to join our team as a Bus Driver at Pablo Roybal Elementary School. The successful candidate will be responsible for safely transporting students to and from school, ensuring their well‑being during transit, and maintaining a positive and secure environment. This full‑time position requires a commitment to punctuality, safety, and excellent communication skills.

• Safely operate a school bus, adhering to all traffic laws and regulations.
• Transport students to and from school and school‑related events in a timely manner.
• Conduct pre‑trip and post‑trip inspections of the bus to ensure safety and proper functioning.
• Maintain a clean and organized bus interior.
• Assist students in boarding and exiting the bus, ensuring their safety at all times.
• Monitor student behavior on the bus and enforce safety rules to ensure a respectful and safe environment.
• Communicate effectively with students, parents, and school staff regarding transportation‑related issues.
• Report any mechanical issues or safety concerns to the appropriate personnel promptly.
• Attend required training sessions and meetings to stay updated on safety protocols and regulations.
• Maintain accurate records of routes, mileage, and student attendance.

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) with a passenger endorsement.
• Clean driving record with no major violations.
• Previous experience driving a bus or similar vehicle preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and make sound decisions in various situations.
• Patience and the ability to work with children of different ages and backgrounds.
• First aid and CPR certification is a plus.
• Must pass background checks and drug screening as required by law.
• Flexibility to work early morning and late afternoon hours, as well as occasional weekends for school events.
