Government to Government Unit Manager

Overview

This position manages the Government to Government Unit in the Multimodal Planning and Programs Bureau of the New Mexico Department of Transportation Planning Division. It supervises three full-time staff and coordinates transportation planning efforts with the state’s five Metropolitan Planning Organizations and seven Regional Transportation Planning Organizations, works on program and project management, and assists the Bureau with the development and implementation of multimodal transportation plans.

• Work closely with Metropolitan and Regional Transportation Planning Organizations, traveling to attend their meetings.
• Cooperate with the organizations’ member entities on transportation projects and related opportunities.
• Monitor the organizations’ work products and operations.
• Review the organizations’ financial reimbursements.
• Ensure the organizations’ compliance with state and federal requirements.
• Assist with the development, implementation, and administration of multimodal transportation plans, programs, and projects.
• Prepare the Planning Procedures Manual.
• Coordinate annual funding cycles.
• Implement the Metropolitan and Regional Transportation planning process and structure with the team and the organizations.
• Conduct yearly employee evaluations.
• Approve time forms.
• Respond to employee needs.
• Provide direction and mentorship.

Eligible new employees may receive three (3) days of administrative leave upon starting. The position offers a salary range of $75,775–$113,663 per year, with full benefits (medical, dental, vision, pension, etc.). The role is 100% in‑person.
