Role Summary
Summit’s warehouse associates play a pivotal role in fulfilling our customers’ needs for materials and services by receiving new material from vendors, picking and preparing orders for will-call or delivery, and participating in cycle counting and other inventory management practices. This entry-level position introduces the associate to the business and helps them learn product knowledge and industry best practices for future opportunities at Summit.
PrincipalAccountabilities
- Pull customer tickets to fulfill orders.
- Prepare orders for shipment to customers.
- Load and unload Summit trucks.
- Receive and stock products on a daily basis to replenish inventory.
- Understand products, their capabilities, and warranties.
- Assist sales associates in fulfilling customer orders when necessary.
- Maintain the warehouse and outside areas neat and clean at all times.
- Maintain safe practices and uphold Summit’s commitment to a safe workplace.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Strong time-management ability to organize and manage multiple priorities.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, oral and written.
- Flexibility – ability to adapt to change.
- Strong customer-service orientation.
- Previous warehouse experience.
- Ability to perform duties with minimal supervision.
- Aptitude for learning.
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds on a regular basis.
- Ability to operate standard warehouse equipment.
Pre‑employment assessments, drug, and background screens are administered.
Professional appearance required.
