Job Title:
Aide - Creative Explorers Daycare
Reports to:

Primary
Purpose:
Direct and support the learning experiences of students participating in the program.
Qualifications:
Education/Certification:
* High school diploma or hold a General Educational Development (GED) certificate
* CPR and First Aid Certified or willing to get certified within?30 days?of being hired?
Special Knowledge/
Skills:
* Ability to read and verbally communicate with children, staff, and parents
* Ability to work with groups of children in a positive manner
* Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
* Effective organizational and communication skills
* Ability to relate to children and adults with courtesy, respect, acceptance, compassion, and patience
Experience:
* Pre-Service Training Certificate or documented?childcare?experience?
Major
Responsibilities and Duties:
* Plan and supervise a 30-minute homework period and snack time.
* Use effective teaching strategies to address different learning styles and individual student needs
* Implement classroom management strategies and enforce the school discipline plan.
* Know and comply with DFPS minimum standards and all state/district regulations.
* Maintain a respectful and positive environment that supports student growth and cooperation.
* Keep accurate student records, including attendance, discipline, and academic information.
* Supervise students closely, knowing each child's name, age, abilities, and location at all times.
* Follow state sanitation guidelines, including child hygiene and facility cleaning.
* Assist with inventory, care, and maintenance of program equipment.
Other
* Follow district safety protocols and emergency procedures.
* Display tolerance necessary for accepting supervision for and criticism of job performance.
* Work in harmony with supervisory, faculty, and peer personnel.
* Use professional information discreetly and judiciously.
* Support and follow administrative and Board policy.
* Represent the school system to the community in a positive, professional way.
* Maintain a sincere, friendly attitude toward patrons.
* Perform other duties as assigned.

Personal computer and peripherals; standard instructional equipment; [P.E. teachers: automated external defibrillator (AED)]

Lifting:
Regular light lifting and carrying (less than 15 pounds); may lift and move textbooks and classroom equipment

Work inside, may work outside; regular exposure to noise
Mental Demands:
Maintain emotional control under stress; work prolonged or irregular hours
